Pricing Guide

Here you will see a simple pricing guide. Each style takes a different amount of time and skill to complete and this has been reflected in the prices below. These are introductory prices to celebrate my first few months in the art business.

Please continue to scroll down for more details regarding style, size and extras.

Choosing a style and size can sometimes be a tricky thing. Below I have tried to help you with your decision with a quick 3 step guide.

Step 1 - Choosing A Style

Choosing a style can be very hard, it can affect the whole feel and look of the piece.

I work in three main mediums.

Graphite Pencils: This is the fastest medium I work in and simply put, it is a black and white pencil drawing. I use a Derwent academy set of pencils ranging from H to 8B. I think it gives a classic look and is something that will fit in nicely in any home.

Coloured Pencils: I think a coloured pencil drawing gives more warmth and character to the animal, especially if they have any striking features like for example deep brown eyes or warm glossy coat. This medium does take a little longer to complete than graphite but gives a nice natural effect. I use a Castle Art premium 72 colour pencil set.

Acrylic Paints: Full-colour painting using Atelier Interactive Acrylic Paints. This is my favourite medium to work in but does take 3 to 4 times longer to complete compared to pencil drawings. I personally think it's worth the wait and it gives a vibrant deep feel to the piece.

For all three of these, I used a range of artist paper. I currently do not work on canvas.

My Advice:

Have a look at your pet, have a think about if they have any striking features which would benefit from colour.

Have a think about the background, its easier to do a background in colour. In particular acrylic paint.

Finally have a think about wait time and cost. The cost goes up for each style as the skill level needed increases as does the processing time which the cost reflects.

Step 2 - Choosing A Size

It is important to take a minute to think about what size you would like your drawing or painting to be. Think about where you will put this up in your home or if you are buying a painting as a gift think about what your friend or family member would like. As the size increases as does the time and effort involved, this is reflected in the price. If you are looking to have two animals or more in the drawing I would you need to go for medium or large as it will be extremely difficult to get all the detail of two animals on such a small space. A framing service is also available.

I offer 3 sizes, small, medium and large.

All measurement below are in inches.

Step 3 - Choosing A Price Package

I am currently offering an introductory price on all commissions.

Below is a simple price guide. These prices are based on just one animal in the painting with a basic colour background, framing and postage are charged separately. For two animals I charge around an extra 50%. Prices slowly increase with each art style and with each size, this is relative to the time and skill needed for each piece.

All prices are subject to change at artist discretion.
